Mar and Cecil were both born and raised in the Philippines. Mar became a Christian in 1985 and first sensed God's calling on his life during a mission trip to Bohol. Before serving with FEBC he served as a youth pastor and campus director, and hosted and produced a radio program for young people.

Cecil accepted Christ in 1986. In 1999, she went on her first assignment with FEBC, serving as a broadcaster in the Overseas English department of FEBC-Philippines. Now she works as an on-air host and producer at FEBC's DWAS station in Legaspi City.

For several years Mar produced a daily devotional program for FEBC. Their efforts to plant a church have flourished, and Mar is now devoting all of his time to the church plant in one of the least-evangelized cities in the Philippines.
