After meeting and getting married on the mission field in the Philippines, Patrick and Eila served on the island of Saipan, followed by a term in Wimborne, England, and are currently on assignment serving their fifth term, from home office in Muuratsalo, Finland.
Patrick is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Radio and TV broadcasting. He holds a certificate in Bible from Multnomah Graduate School of Ministry in Portland, Oregon. Patrick's home church is the Timber Valley Bible church in Colton, Oregon. He is a U.S. Army veteran.
Patrick began his service to FEBC in 1989 as a volunteer for two years. He currently gathers and enters data to the FEBC Radio Data Manager server in the United Kingdom which in turn offers its resources to the public on the World by Radio Searchable data base. Patrick he also works in partnership with the Finnish radio mission Sanansaattajat (Messengers).
Eila is a graduate of Jyvaskyla University with a Masters in Education. Eila's home church is the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kangasniemi, Finland. She speaks five languages.
Eila began her service seconded to FEBC from Messengers in 1988 in the Philippines, as FEBC Research Coordinator, where she served for two terms.
Mikko and Miia are studying in English and Finnish in the international departments of their schools in Jyvaskyla. Mikko is on schedule to begin his final three years at a high school in Jyvaskyla. He enjoys fishing in the summers when the lake is free of ice. Miia is active with 19 other girls who together form an ice skating team and compete in national competitions.
Their family enjoys both cross-country and downhill skiing, riding bikes, walking, swimming, wind-surfing, boating using both oars and/or a small outboard motor, and picking berries in the forest.
