10,000 Radios! FEBC Delivering Radios and Words of Hope

Thursday April 9th, 2009

IMAGINE A SMALL VILLAGE SURROUNDED BY HUTS in a remote area of Southeast Asia. Children dart down dusty roads in bare feet, calling out to one another. Chickens and dogs scurry out of the way as old farmers guide water buffaloes from rice paddies to local streams.

Suddenly, villagers call to one another and children stop their play to join the adults in one of the larger dwellings. Everyone gathers in a circle around a single radio and grows quiet, waiting for the familiar voice of the broadcaster who says, "This is FEBC Radio International."

One Radio Touches Many

The group listens with excitement as the broadcast begins, sharing the message of Christ. The daily program offers time in God's Word, worship, and inspiring messages, along with practical advice for daily living.

As villagers return to their fields, they discuss what they heard on the broadcasts... news that is changing their lives!

Radio Is Safe

In places where political persecution, geographical barriers, and cultural biases often prevent people from attending church, radio provides a safe place to discover the truth.

Not only for those living in remote locations, but also for city dwellers, the poor... even survivors of natural disasters. Because of this, FEBC makes it an ongoing priority to distribute radios to our field offices so that people can tune in to the Good News.

10,000 Radios

In 2008 alone, FEBC delivered almost 10,000 radios to people in Myanmar, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Russia... people like Nurjanna from Indonesia who told us: I cried when I received this radio. Now my family is so happy because we can listen to Christian programs whenever we want. There are also people like Lia, who said: It's such a joy getting a radio from FEBC! I've been waiting to have one but didn't have the money. Praise God!

None of this would be possible without the support of friends like you. As one listener so aptly put it:

I'm amazed there are people who freely give away radios. It feels like a miracle! May the Lord Jesus richly bless you!

Thank you for helping put radios into the hands of those who need to hear the Good News!
