'Project Isa' Update

Friday October 30th, 2009

Launched in January 2009, FEBC’s Project Isa has been in full swing for ten months. Here’s the progress we’ve made as a result of your support for this pivotal campaign to reach Muslims with the message of Christ.

• Pakistan: In conjunction with Feba, our sister organization, we are funding the next 3 years of air time for a specific language group that reaches 11% of Pakistan’s Muslim-dominant population.
• Middle East: Feba’s 30-year presence in Yemen has brought many to the Lord. Due to demand, a weekly discipleship program was recently launched to help believers grow in their faith. FEBC is assisting Feba with the expenses for this program called “Reality Church.”
• Kazakhstan: In late October, FEBC plans to make our Kazakh programs available on shortwave. We will continue to offer our broadcasts over the internet and shortwave until we receive government approval for an FM license.
• China: FEBC recently renewed our support for broadcasts to the Uighurs of northwestern China, a predominantly Muslim region with a population of 10 million. Radio is critical at this time due to the recent persecution that has forced ethnic Christians to go underground and missionaries to flee. Broadcasts, however, can penetrate geographical and political barriers, reaching listeners in the privacy of their homes.
• Philippines: In an effort to reach 5 million Muslims living in the southern island of Mindanao, FEBC is upgrading its transmitters so that broadcasts from our 3 radio stations can reach more listeners in this region. In addition, FEBC also funded 700 radios that were distributed to listeners through a partner organization.
• Russia: On October 1, 2009, 100 satellite receivers were distributed to local churches and Christian leaders in Tatarstan, an autonomous republic of Russia with a large Muslim population. These receivers make it possible for 3.7 million people to hear our Moscow and St. Petersburg broadcasts 24/7. FEBC-Russian Ministries is overseeing this project, developing a network of Tartarstan people eager to reach others with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
• Indonesia: Muslims are secretly listening to our Christian programs and responding. FEBC recently invited a group of interested Muslim listeners to join a weekly Bible study. Bibles and radios were distributed, and people are making decisions for Christ!

‘Project Isa’ Prayer Points

In the days to come, please join FEBC in prayer that God would continue to use Project Isa to reach many Muslims with the gospel. Specifically, please pray:
• that Muslims around the world will be drawn to the message of Christ and find answers to life’s needs as they listen to FEBC and Feba broadcasts.
• that listeners who choose to follow Christ from Muslim-dominant regions will share their faith with others.
• that our team in Iraq will soon receive an official FM license from the government, allowing them to establish their own radio station in Baghdad.
• that the Kazakhstan government will approve FEBC’s FM license to broadcast within the country.
• for tensions to ease amongst the Uighurs in northwest China, so that persecution will cease and missionaries can return to this region.
• that lives will be impacted in Mindanao through radio distribution and broadcasts.
• that many in Tatarstan will respond to the Good News transmitted through our new satellite receivers.

Thank you for praying, and for trusting that God will use Project Isa to reach many with the Good News of His Son!
