Radio Reaches the Unreachable!
Pastors in a Southeast Asian nation tried repeatedly to witness to “Maung,” but since they were unable to speak his ethnic language, they couldn’t fully explain the gospel.
One pastor persuaded Maung to listen to the radio, and reluctantly he tuned into “Temporal to Eternal,” an FEBC program produced in his own language. The teacher compared the temporal beliefs of Maung’s widely accepted faith with the eternal values of Christianity. After listening for several weeks, Maung wrote to FEBC and asked for a Bible. He later gave his life to Christ.
Maung eventually became Pastor Maung after graduating from a seminary in Manila, and soon afterwards, he and his wife returned to their homeland to minister to their people.
When asked about his conversion to the Christian faith, Pastor Maung was quick to mention radio’s effectiveness. “Radio reaches places where preachers cannot go and speaks many languages.”
