FEBC Indonesia - Tsunami Relief - 01/05
22 - We met this woman at one of the displaced persons camps, and
she shared her story. Awakened by the earthquake, she sent her 3 children--ages
15, 12, and 6--to her mother’s house nearby, which was more structurally sound. Little did she know that moments later her
fleeing children would be swept away by those tsunami.
She was
overwhelmed at having lost her children all at once and tears streamed down her
face as she spoke with us. She feels tremendous guilt at having sent them away.
“Why did I send them off? Why was I spared and not my 3 innocent children?
" We could only listen and share that it was not her fault and that God loves
her. |
