I first heard about Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) in 1980 when I was taking a Communications course in college. This class required each student to conduct research on programming techniques used by local radio stations.

When the teacher assigned me to an FEBC station several hours away, I was disappointed. I wasn’t a believer at the time and I begrudgingly traveled the long distance to do my research. What would I learn from a Christian radio station, I thought.

I listened to FEBC for days to determine their programming strategies, then submitted my findings.

Soon afterwards I moved back home to the Cagayan Valley, got married and had children. I founded a Montessori school, and by God’s grace was saved in 1986.

The Return to Radio

Fast forward to 2005. Even though I had spent 20 years directing the school, I longed to be involved in broadcasting, my first love. I prayed about this for two years, asking God to put me in a position where I could glorify Him. In 2006 He answered my prayers when a friend asked me to host an afternoon radio program.

Then in March 2007, FEBC recruited volunteers interested in working for an upcoming Cagayan Valley radio station. I quickly signed on, realizing this was also the answer to my prayers.

So far, FEBC has trained me in Programming and Counseling, but I have several more training sessions to attend.

I feel so blessed to be associated with such a noble ministry like FEBC, whose mission it is to evangelize the world!

Twenty five years ago I first learned about FEBC, and now I’m continuing my Christian journey with this ministry. I’m amazed at how God answered my prayers. When I told Him, “Here I am Lord, use me!” I never expected I’d come full circle with FEBC.
