IN VIETNAM PERSECUTION IS NOT UNCOMMON. Mr. Phan* experienced this firsthand when he became a believer in 1999. He endured persecution not only from the local government, but also from non-believers he worked with. A teacher, Mr. Phan was forced by his colleagues to leave his job and return to his home village. But even there he found opposition! Villagers told him he wasn't welcome to stay unless he returned to their religion. Mr. Phan and his wife prayed, waited on God, and felt led to move to another area. They set up a small breakfast cafe, but when patrons learned they were Christians, business dried up. They soon had to move again. A New OpportunityAround this time, a staff member from FEBC-Vietnam became acquainted with Mr. Phan and discovered his heart for the Lord. He asked if he would consider becoming a broadcaster in order to share Christ's love with the Cham people, an ethnic group living in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. Mr. Phan agreed to become an FEBC broadcaster, and along with many other pastors he received in-depth broadcast training from FEBC in 2007. He is now the FEBC programmer and broadcaster to the Cham-speaking people! Loving Your "Enemy"While life has not been easy for Mr. Phan, the hardships he endured at the hands of his own people eventually led him to FEBC. And now he's using his teaching skills to share Christ with many of those who rejected him!
Mr. Phan is one of many broadcasters FEBC supports on a monthly basis. Thank you for helping make our ministry possible, through your prayers and support! *Name changed for security purposes
