Radio Fills the Void

WHEN KIRY WAS MARRIED HE RECEIVED a gift that changed his life.

Ten years ago, on his wedding day, his brother handed him a gospel tract. Kiry read the tract carefully, and before long had made the decision to become a disciple of Jesus.

However, there was one problem--he didn’t have a Bible.

Then someone told him about FEBC’s shortwave broadcasts from Manila, Philippines. He began listening intently every day to the programs in the Khmer language of Cambodia.

It would be two years before Kiry received his own Bible, but in the meantime he had heard the call to become a pastor.

He continued to listen to FEBC's broadcasts, and enrolled in an online pastoral training program.

Today, he pastors a church of 100 people and oversees six smaller churches!

Always Time for Radio

Today Pastor Kiry can clearly hear the broadcasts from FEBC’s FM station in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital city. He finds the programs invaluable because they offer him material for teaching and discipling his own flock.

Kiry was delighted when FEBC recently presented him with twelve radios for members of his churches.

"Many in my congregation are farmers," Kiry explains. "They have no time for Bible reading when they work in the fields... but they always have time to listen to the radio."
