Planting Churches in Prison

A FORMER MONK WHO FOUND NO SATISFACTION IN HIS FAITH abandoned his robes for street clothes. He turned to drug smuggling, but when caught was thrown in jail for life.

Six years later, he gave his heart to the Lord in the prison. Soon afterwards, he discovered there was an FEBC broadcast in his language. He began writing to FEBC to learn how to strengthen his walk with God. He has led many inmates to Christ.

During his imprisonment, he was moved to 4 different jails; in each one he started a new church within prison walls.

Due to good conduct, his life sentence was commuted. During his years in prison, he prepared himself to be used by God. Prior to his release, he expressed interest in joining FEBC to reach people for Christ.

Now he’s back in his homeland, meeting with friends and family face-to-face for the first time in more than 20 years. We pray his faith will remain strong in spite of temptations and oppositions, especially as he interacts with people who’ve had no exposure to the gospel. We also pray he’ll be effective in leading his people to the Lord.
