Friday - 1
"My day always starts and ends with FEBC…as I was
listening to the stories of the Old Testament yesterday, the
words touched my heart…my mind was filled with His grace.
From now on, I will pray to be His faithful servant who can share
the Bible with other people. The living words of God move our
lives everyday. I will always pray with much hope for the FEBC
staff that provides these wonderful programs to all of us." -
Praise from listener in Korea
Saturday - 2
From FEBC-Korea: "Please pray that God will provide every need
for the completion of the Busan station. Pray that it will become
an effective tool in glorifying His Kingdom and reaching out in
Christ to many lost souls in the Busan and Kyeongnam areas."
Sunday - 3
A Testimony Festival will be held by FEBC-Korea at a local
church in the Ulsan area this month. They request prayer that
"this event will touch many hearts and share the gospel of Jesus
Christ. Pray that it will encourage many people to put their
faith in Christ and have hope in Him."
Monday - 4
FEBC-Thailand produces broadcasts in the Thai language as well
as a number of tribal languages for certain people groups who are
sometimes subject to dreadful persecution. Praise God that FEBC
broadcasts can play such a vital role in getting the gospel into
listeners' homes and hearts…and encouraging and
strengthening their faith!
Tuesday - 5
Praise God for the opportunity to develop new community radio
stations in Thailand; last June FEBC-Thailand was able to
purchase their first two community radio licenses. The plan is to
establish these stations using many of the Bangkok facilities and
staff already in place; pray for the staff and production team as
they continue to develop this project. The director writes: "We
never know in what area we'll need the Lord to supply wisdom for
that day…thank you for regularly praying for His wisdom
and guidance for us."
Wednesday - 6
Praise the Lord that during the series of natural disasters
which struck many Pacific and Southeast Asian communities last
year, FEBC was able to continue to broadcast the message that
only in Christ is our future secure. Both spiritual comfort and
practical advice were aired as people struggled to cope with the
devastating loss of lives, homes, and possessions. Pray that
God's love will be a beacon of hope for every listener.
Thursday - 7
Thank God for the five-member First Response team that FEBC
dispatched within days of the massive Indonesian earthquake in
Padang. The team carried a suitcase studio equipped with a
transmitter, antenna, generator, and 20 shortwave radios; only
two of the 18-20 FM stations in the region were still on air.
After meeting with the national disaster coordinating agency, the
team leader commented: "I was overwhelmed by how our team was so
well received and supported at the very highest levels-God is
truly in this."
Friday - 8
"I used to make fun of Christians, but through your programs,
I've now become a believer." - Testimony from a listener in
Central Asia
Saturday - 9
Thank God for enabling FEBC-Indonesia to celebrate their 40th
year of ministry! Please pray for director Samuel T. and his
YASKI team in all their efforts to continue to broadcast the
gospel to this Muslim-dominated nation. Pray that He will also
bless their plans to expand the reach of their programming into
new regions over the next few years.
Sunday - 10
FEBC-Indonesia reports that Muslims are secretly listening to
Christian programs…and responding! The team recently
invited a group of interested Muslim listeners to join a weekly
Bible study where both Bibles and radios were distributed; praise
God that some have made a decision to follow Christ! Pray that
these new believers will be encouraged and nurtured in their
faith no matter what obstacles they may encounter.
Monday - 11
Praise from a listener in Indonesia: "I am 83 years old and
I've been listening to your programs for quite awhile. I've
learned a lot about forgiveness from your broadcaster, who feels
like a friend to me. God has changed my bitter life into a
peaceful one."
Tuesday - 12
Praise God for Reverend Kevin Keegan, who was appointed as
National Director of FEBC-Australia last November. Kevin writes:
"I come to this role with great enthusiasm and excitement. FEBC
has accomplished and continues to accomplish amazing things with
God, and by His grace I look forward to being a part of great
things in the future." Please pray for Kevin and his wife Leanne
as they continue on this new ministry venture.
Wednesday - 13
Please pray for FEBC-USA's management team as they embark on
another year of ministry: Gregg Harris, President; Luke Cheng,
Vice President of International Ministries; David McElwee, Vice
President of Development; and Dean Swartz, Senior Vice President.
They are planning a retreat this month to pray and plan together
as they tackle various ministry challenges and decisions. Pray
for unity of spirit, and for sensitivity to God's guidance.
Thursday - 14
Praise God for China's Liangyou Bible Seminary
(formerly known as Voice of Friendship Seminary) and for
its 9,000 registered members. FEBC-Hong Kong writes: "Ask the
Lord to use this two-year curriculum to build up church workers
and also countless listeners. Also please pray that the Holy
Spirit will continuously empower us all; both programmers and
administrators are facing many new challenges as China is rapidly
urbanized."
Friday - 15
Please pray for God's wisdom and guidance for FEBC-Taiwan: for
executive director Dr. Chen and his staff; for Pastor Yu,
director of the program department and his team; and for Dorothy
Lin, producer of the children's program The Happy Mystery
Eggs. Dorothy writes: "Pray that God will use the program to
help build good character and strong Christian faith in many
children."
Saturday - 16
"I listen to your programs often, and I have benefitted a lot
from them…they've become my teacher and friend. Thank God
for your work-broadcasting the Gospel, and blessing so many
listeners." - Praise from a listener in China
Sunday - 17
FEBC-Thailand's director writes: "Please pray for our staff
here in Bangkok-for their health, for wisdom in their work, and
for their families. We are blessed to have committed staff that
understands the importance of their spiritual ministry."
Monday - 18
From FEBC-Saipan: "Pray for the Lord's guidance for director
Bob Springer as he oversees the operation of the Saipan
transmitting facility. Also pray that He will guide Dan Kimball
as he oversees facilities maintenance."
Tuesday - 19
Thank God for protecting FEBC-Saipan from the threat of two
typhoons-both storms passed without inflicting any damage. They
write: "Pray that He will continue to protect our island and FEBC
facilities." Also praise God for two short-term work teams soon
heading for Saipan to help with a number of projects; ask God to
bless and protect them.
Wednesday - 20
Pray for the additional staff needed at FEBC-Saipan: there us
still an urgent need for radio station technicians and engineers
as well as for antenna riggers. Also pray for complete healing
and restoration for Owen Gabbie, chief antenna rigger who
recently underwent surgery in the Philippines.
Thursday - 21
Today is our monthly Day of Prayer. Please lift up the staff
and ministries of FEBC-Indonesia and FEBC-Mongolia. Pray
especially that God will give His strength and clear guidance to
director Sammy T. of Indonesia, and Mongolia director B.
Tuvshintsengel. Both face tremendous challenges as ministry
leaders in nations where there is very little Christian presence.
Pray also for their families and personal lives.
Friday - 22
Praise God for Feba's Anton Meyer, Yawo-language coordinator,
and his team in Malawi. Pray that God will bless them with His
wisdom as they strive to present the gospel in an unstable
environment that often presents many practical difficulties and
obstacles inherent to ministry in third world countries. Pray
that God will give them patience, strength and stamina as they
make plans and work through these problems.
Saturday - 23
Pray that God will speak to listeners in Malawi through Feba
broadcasts. One wrote: "I have been listening to the Yawo
programs for many years. Now, I have made a decision to follow
Jesus Christ. I used to denounce Christianity…but your
Scripture radio program has changed my thinking."
Sunday - 24
Thank God for John Rogers, who has been a member of the Feba
board since 2005 and was appointed as board Chairman this year.
John says, "Having served with Feba's ministry overseas, it has
been a very real privilege to return and have a new role in the
ministry…I'm really excited about the appointment of
Jonathan Frank as Chief Executive, and believe he is the right
person to lead Feba at this time." Pray that John and the board
will be effective in their governance role, and that God will
bless and guide both John and Jonathan in fulfilling their
leadership responsibilities.
Monday - 25
Australian missionaries Jon and Remy Tan and their daughter
Janelle are now serving at FEBCambodia. John writes from Phnom
Penh: "We thank you for your prayerful support as we transition
between mission fields. Please continue to pray for us: as we
learn the Khmer language and learn to work with the people of
Cambodia; as we adjust to the country's weather and lifestyle;
and as we press on towards the goal of what we need to accomplish
here for the Lord."
Tuesday - 26
Pray for the twenty million citizens of Russia who call
themselves Muslims. Some are highly religious, but most are
cultural Muslims only who are searching for an identity. One
listener writes: "I listen to your programs secretly, away from
my family. I feel that you are telling the truth about God,
because your God is full of love."
Wednesday - 27
Praise God that FEBC Russian Ministries (RM) is working on
three different programs to reach Muslims for Christ in Russia:
One will concentrate on gathering testimonies from believers with
culturally Muslim backgrounds; another will use a popular
apologetics approach, explaining the difference between
Christianity and Islam; the third will be an openly evangelistic
program for Muslims where Bible truths will be explained by
pastors with cultural Muslim backgrounds. Pray that this
threefold approach will touch thousands of people living in
Russia and its environs.
Thursday - 28
Please pray for Nurlan Kanatbaev, a key leader with FEBC
Russian Ministries in Kazakhstan, and for his wife and four
children. Also pray that God will prepare the hearts of Kazakh
listeners to hear and accept the Good News when He opens the door
for broadcasting in this nation…and pray that it will be
soon!
Friday - 29
Please pray for Ludmila Akhterova, office manager and
children's program producer with RM in La Mirada, who shoulders
many responsibilities each day. Pray especially that the young
Russian listeners who tune in to her programs will accept Jesus
into their hearts and have a profound influence on their families
to do the same.
Saturday - 30
Praise God for Mehm and Ruth, FEBC missionaries to the Mon,
and for their dedicated staff who are committed to sharing the
gospel with this 'minority' people group. Last November they
conducted a workshop designed to inspire the creation of some
original and authentic Mon music "that will reach the hearts of
our people, most of who are still held in darkness." Pray that
God will use this and all their other outreach endeavors to
"communicate His infinite power and saving grace to our
people."
Sunday - 31
Please pray for our broadcasts and outreach efforts to two
other 'minority' language groups: the Hmong and the Khmu. Ask God
to bless and protect FEBC missionaries and staff as they minister
to people and villages often scattered across various country
borders. One Hmong listener writes: "It's very important to have
our own language on the air. Sometimes when we try to tell others
about God, we can't clearly explain the Bible. We tell them to
listen to FEBC so they can understand better. Your programs help
people… understand God's Word."
