Sunday - 1
On March 1, FEBC began a broadcast in the Black
Hmong language, our third Hmong language
programming currently on the air. Until research was
conducted nine years ago, this particular people group
was unknown. Praise God for this new development,
and for the opportunity to share the message of His
love with the Black Hmong. Pray that many of these
people will come to know Christ.
Monday - 2
"I want to let you know that the Hmong in China listen
to your broadcast. We know God through you. I'm 14
years old. Please pray that I will have wisdom to tell
others about God. Sometimes I don't now how...but
I will try to do well and be a good example to them so
they will know that God is inside me. Please pray that
the believers will be strong in the Lord..."
- From China
Tuesday - 3
From Hmong listener in Vietnam: "I praise the Lord
that we hear the Good News from the radio. God still
opens doors for our Hmong people to know Him and
become His children. Please pray for the Christians
here... persecution still happens among believers. I
trust that if we pray together as one God will change
the government's heart and we will have freedom to
serve Him. Please continue to broadcast to us...the
programs are very important to our lives and give us
hope and encourage our faith in God."
Wednesday - 4
Please pray for our broadcasters to the Hmong people
group. Pray that God will continue to protect and
strengthen them, and that His Spirit will inspire them
and give them wisdom as they strive to produce
programs that will touch and transform the lives of the
Hmong listeners.
Thursday - 5
FEBC-Jeju (Korea) asks for prayer support during the
35th anniversary events scheduled for this week, which
will include combined retreats for their staff, steering
committee and children's choir. Pray that God will be
glorified through this time, and also pray for all the
guests who will be attending, from both Korea and
beyond.
Friday - 6
Continue to pray for listeners to FEBC broadcasts, as
this is often the only Christian programming available in
their heart language. In countless regions of the world
there are no churches or any other Christian witness
available apart from radio; pray that God will use our
programmers to speak directly into the hearts of
listeners who tune in.
Saturday - 7
Praise from a Khmu listener in Laos: "I'm so thankful
for having the Khmu programs on the air every day.
Twenty-three families attend our church, and we depend
on your broadcasts for spiritual nourishment. The messages
and teachings have touched our hearts, changed our
lives...and our church is growing spiritually."
Sunday - 8
Praise God that FEBC's director of broadcasting to
Myanmar (Burma) has recovered from some difficult
health issues that he endured several months ago. Pray
for continuing wisdom and strength as he leads the radio
ministry in this closed country and plans for its future.
Pray also for his family.
Monday - 9
"Thank you so much for your letter and gospel tracts,
because I want to know more about God. Can He save
a poor guy like me?" Pray God will increase the faith
of this listener in Myanmar--and others like him.
Tuesday - 10
Pray for FEBC-Japan's team and for their new blog project, which was launched over the Internet
in March. The blog uses photos and short messages to
attract more Internet users to the ministry's main Web
site, where many programs and Christian resources are
available. Pray that God will use this tool to increase
awareness and interest in the ministry, and also pray for
Takanori Nagakura, who is in charge of this project.
Wednesday - 11
"When I first came across your Web site (and listened
to the ‘online programs'), I was weary and depressed.
I had spent one month praying and searching...today I
went to church, and I am convinced that I must believe
in the Lord!" – From a listener in Japan
Thursday - 12
Feba is partnering with two local missionary groups in
the northern part of Mozambique in efforts to establish
radio stations to reach the Makua and Kimwani speaking
peoples. Pray for the projects, which are intended
to complement current broadcasts ministering to the
Makonde people. Ask for God's wisdom and protection
for those involved in the development phase.
Friday - 13
Please pray for the staff of Feba in Kenya, which
has experienced much upheaval recently. Ministry
director Peter Anaminyi thanks God for protection
of staff members at the head office in Narobi, and
for the team at Baraka FM in Mombasa. Pray that
God will use these trying times to open the door for
opportunities to attract new listeners, and for the
ministry to be His "salt and light."
Saturday - 14
Pray for FEBC-Yeondong as they plan an
Evangelism Expo to be held June 15-17 in the East
Sea and Samcheok areas. Please also pray for their
Children's Choir, which will tour the US from June
17 to July 2. Their trip will include performances at
Grandfather Mountain in N.C., and the Korean War
Memorial Ceremony on June 25.
Sunday - 15
Praise God for this amazing testimony from a
listener in Yeondong (written by a nurse): "I live
in So-Rok Island, a leprosy colony. I came here 54
years ago when I was 25 years old. Over the years,
my heart has been broken by many things...I have
lost my fingers, my eyes, and some of my appearance,
but when I met God I gained spiritual life and
health. I had to cry out to someone, and He was
there for me through FEBC...I have been filled
with enormous strength and faith through hearing
FEBC programs. Thank you for faithfully airing
the Word of God."
Monday - 16
FEBCambodia praises God for the encouraging
conclusion of the first phase of their village development
project, and for the Family Development
team, who managed the project. A team member
commented: "The village is very different!
Villagers are starting to plant; children are more
educated." Please pray for funding necessary to
begin the next phase of the project, which will
include radio programs sharing the knowledge
gleaned for the benefit of the wider community.
Tuesday - 17
Cambodia's Family FM station in Phnom Penh is
still broadcasting at only 8 kW power, instead of 10
kW. As a result, it is reported that reception is faint
on the outskirts of their listening area. They ask
that we "please pray urgently that God will provide
the funds needed to rebuild our antenna system."
Wednesday - 18
Please pray that the Lord will provide a Khmer/
English translator for FEBCambodia. They need
someone who can translate the testimonies and
comments of their listeners into English so that "we,
in turn, can encourage our English-speaking
supporters and help them to pray."
Thursday - 19
Our Day of Prayer this month features FEBC-Philippines.
Join us as we praise the Lord for all He has accomplished
in the 60 years since the first radio broadcast was transmitted
over the airwaves into China from the brand new
station in Manila! Pray for director Dan Andrew Cura and
his staff as they continue their celebration of God's faithfulness
throughout the years and look forward to all He
has in store for the ministry's future.
Friday - 20
Praise God that the FEBC disaster response radio test
conducted in the Philippines was an overwhelming success.
Thank Him also for the ministry team who endured
very difficult conditions to execute the tests. "This trial
run really tested our nerves," said Hazeen Latif. "The
most challenging part was to stay awake and keep the
station running for 3 days and 3 nights without a break."
Engineer Mike Adams added, "The field conditions were
intentionally very challenging. It was hot and humid...
and on the 2nd day the power failed so we used a backup
generator from the police station until power was restored."
Pray the lessons learned will be helpful in the future.
Saturday - 21
FEBCanada's Don Patterson writes "One of the long-term
positive results of providing emergency communication
services during major disasters is the willingness of
local authorities to allow the ministry to stay on the air in
affected areas." Today, 3 years after the Asian tsunami,
radio programs in Indonesia and Thailand continue to be
aired in regions where ministry broadcasts were not previously
permitted. Pray that God will provide resources
needed for the disaster response project, for the purchase
of pre-tuned radios, and for the maintenance of existing
programs and stations.
Sunday - 22
Please pray for anniversary-related events scheduled for
this week in Manila, including a concert and various
outreach projects for people living in impoverished urban
communities. Also pray for a safe and fruitful trip for all
those participants traveling from the U.S.
Monday - 23
Please pray for Rudi Wiens, FEBC Russian Ministries'
director and language coordinator as he tackles multiple
issues, including ministry development in new regions,
overseeing key personnel, and raising support for the ministry
of FEBC in Russia.
Tuesday - 24
"Please pray for our small church. We invite our neighbors
and non-believers from our village to listen to FEBC
programs during church service. Pray that they will
accept Jesus as their Savior." - Listener in Russia
Wednesday - 25
Praise God for Evgeny Sarapulov, an FEBC broadcaster/
psychologist in Russia who offers help to
listeners in difficult situations...and who receives
many phone calls from both Christians and nonbelievers
every day. Please pray that God will give
Evgeny great wisdom and discernment in his conversations
with people, and that through his advice
many will find new freedom in Christ.
Thursday - 26
A pastor in Russia writes: "Please pray for our new
rehab center. Many alcoholics, drug addicts, and
homeless people come to our center where they
have an opportunity to listen to FEBC broadcasts."
Friday - 27
"I am a regular listener, and God convicted me
through a message that I heard this afternoon.
Thank you for enhancing my faith." – Praise from
listener in Korea
Saturday - 28
Praise God for the radio-training workshop that
FEBC-Mongolia sponsored for children involved
in Save the Children community centers, and for
the things children learned about their rights in the
home environment. Those attending were also aided
in making radio spots and short dramas to highlight
children's points of view, which were then aired on
104.5 FM. Pray that God would bless these efforts
to promote safer and happier home environments in
Mongolia.
Sunday - 29
After the completion of the FEBC-Mongolia building
dedication last month, missionaries Jan and
David Bayliss will be transferring to Singapore.
Pray for them as they settle in their new home base
and provide support throughout Asia in the fields of
engineering (David) and community development
programming (Jan) on a short-term basis. Pray also
for their family in Australia.
Monday - 30
Please pray for the management team at the La
Mirada office as they close the books on another fiscal
year and seek the Lord's wisdom and direction
for ministry projects and plans being considered for
the next 12 months. Also ask God to defend, sustain
and encourage each one in their various roles
and responsibilities as they face difficult challenges
in their efforts to strengthen, support and expand
this great work He has entrusted to them.
