Saturday - 1
Praise God for giving FEBC the privilege of being a part of
positive changes that are taking place in Vietnam every day. Pray
for new projects that FEBC Vietnamese Ministries has initiated to
reach more people with the gospel: cell phone technology, which
will supplement the daily broadcasts; partnerships with local
churches to offer faith-building seminars; new shortwave
programs, including ethnic languages; a Bible dramatization
series; and evangelistic CDs.
Sunday - 2
From a Hmong listener in Vietnam: "Thank God for using FEBC to
send the Good News to us. I want to let you know that we became
Christians 8 years ago, but we don't have a church yet. We pray
that someday we will have a church where we can worship God
freely."
Monday - 3
Praise God for the initiative of this listener, who after
moving to the US discovered FEBC's Vietnamese programming online.
He was so pleased to discover the programs that he printed 500
business cards with FEBC's name and contact information to
distribute to everyone he knew! He writes, "Hopefully many more
people will listen to your broadcasts and eventually come to know
Christ."
Tuesday - 4
Thank the Lord that people all over the world are discovering
FEBC's online programs, accessible 24/7 through their computer.
Recently a listener from China wrote to say: "I first encountered
FEBC twenty one years ago. We lived in an isolated area. Your
radio station became our true friend! No matter what problems we
encountered, you were always there beside us, guiding and
teaching us. God has now provided the Internet, and we can listen
to your programs much clearer and better. He is truly a God of
wonders!"
Wednesday - 5
In 2008, FEBC Chinese Ministries (CM) introduced an
experimental 5-minute segment on their Liangyou station. The idea
began with a teenager, who had a vision of sharing the gospel
with his peers. CM gave him a digital recorder, which he used to
interview students regarding college life and the struggles of
living out their faith in Christ. Listeners were so drawn to the
broadcasts that the segment has now grown to a 30-minute weekly
program. Praise God for using a teen to initiate FEBC's
in-country presence in China!
Thursday - 6
Today is America's National Day of Prayer. Let's join with
other believers in the US and pray for our country: our president
and his staff, our leaders and policy makers, our armed forces,
our economy, our educational system, our health care programs and
polices, and all legislation which determines and affects the
well-being of our citizens. And pray for spiritual revival!
Friday - 7
Praise God for these impressive 2009 statistics from FEBC-Hong
Kong's recent newsletter: they received 73,728 listener letters,
and had 4,229,268 visitor hits on Liangyou radio's four websites!
Thank God for Liangyou stations' 60 years of broadcasting; pray
that He will continue to use the programming to draw many more
listeners to Christ.
Saturday - 8
"Listening to your station is my first priority when I get
home each day. Sometimes I even listen twice: first on the radio
and then through the Internet. Thank you for all your hard work!"
- Praise from listener in China
Sunday - 9
Praise God for Robert and Peggy Choy, FEBCanada's longest
serving missionaries now in their 25th year with FEBC-Hong Kong.
Pray for Robert as he fulfills his role as director of
engineering and music, and for Peggy's involvement with listener
follow-up. Also pray for their son Jeremy, in Alberta, and
Bernie, in Hong Kong.
Monday - 10
Thank the Lord for Joseph Ko, FEBCanada's Director of
International Ministries. Pray for God's wisdom and strength as
he settles into his new role while still shouldering many other
responsibilities. Also pray for his family.
Tuesday - 11
From Bob and Jan Springer, FEBC missionaries in Saipan: "We
thank the Lord for good health that enables us to serve daily
here on Saipan. Please pray that the Lord will grant us continued
good health throughout 2010."
Wednesday - 12
Please pray for wisdom and guidance for Bob Springer as he
leads the staff on Saipan; pray also that he will be able to
handle the additional responsibilities of Acting Chief Engineer.
Ask God to send missionaries to help in the engineering
department.
Thursday - 13
Having completed their La Mirada assignment the end of March,
FEBC missionaries Chris and Joyce Slabaugh will transition to
their new Saipan assignment in early June. Please pray for them
this month as they travel many miles to visit family and partners
and to raise additional funds. They write, "We praise God for His
faithfulness and the many blessings He gives us every day!"
Friday - 14
Praise God for Feba's Coffee in My Home drama series
aired in northeast Africa, which models a home cell group and
includes singing, praying, listening to stories from the Bible,
and a question-and-answer discussion. Pray especially for "new
believers, primarily from Muslim backgrounds, who feel they need
to keep their new faith a secret to avoid disapproval from family
and community."
Saturday - 15
Feba missionaries Bob and Barbara Bartz praise the Lord that
their volunteer visa allowing them to stay in South Africa has
been extended. Please pray for their daughter Emily as she
graduates this month from college; ask God to clearly lead as she
considers a variety of future options. Also pray for their son
Nathan, a college student studying mass communications with an
emphasis in radio; pray for his need of a summer job.
Sunday - 16
Please pray for Feba's newly established International
Ministry Team, which comprises all of Feba's ministry efforts
around the world. Pray for wisdom as roles are defined and the
team collaborates regarding policy and strategy. Pray especially
for Bob Bartz as changes are now filtering down to his role in
southern Africa.
Monday - 17
Pray for Zindagi Kay Sung (Along with Life), Feba's
program in Urdu, one of Pakistan's two official languages. Pray
that listeners will be receptive to the teachings of Christ,
which are woven into discussions of everyday topics throughout
the programs. Pray also for the
listeners: "My family and friends are not happy with
me-because I listen to your programs. I haven't stopped
listening, but I need to do it less openly now."
Tuesday - 18
Pray that God will use The Ultimate Goal, Feba's
initiative in South Africa to mobilize Christians in the country
to utilize next month's World Cup soccer tournament as an
opportunity to witness for Christ. Also pray for the production
and airing of special programs that will feature testimonies from
international sports celebrities.
Wednesday - 19
Thank the Lord for Ronnie, director of FEBC-Myanmar (Burma),
and for his sons and other staff who have such a heart for the
Burmese people. Ask God to continue to bless and protect them as
they proclaim His gospel in this devout Buddhist
nation…under very challenging circumstances and with very
little resources. Also pray for Ronnie's health as he battles
serious diabetes.
Thursday - 20
Today is our monthly Day of Prayer. Please pray for the
directors and staff of FEBC-Japan and FEBC-Korea, and for all the
listeners who tune in to their gospel and counseling
programming.
Friday - 21
Pray for FEBC-Japan as the ministry team searches for a
successor to the "main radio personality" for their broadcasts.
Pray that God will provide the right person for the job: one who
has both an appealing radio voice and experience in pastoral
counseling.
Saturday - 22
Thank the Lord for the leadership and heart of Keiko
Yoshizaki, director of FEBC-Japan. She writes: "Less than one
percent of our population is Christian, and many are getting very
old. Pray that God will raise up a new generation of young and
dedicated believers who can partner with us in the radio
work."
Sunday - 23
From a listener in Korea: "Thank you FEBC! After 6 years of
marriage, I had been thinking about divorce when one day I
listened to FEBC while driving…and after hearing the
message I began to pray, 'Please help me understand my husband.'
My viewpoint changed from self-centered to others-centered.
Today, our family's focus has changed to become a Christ-centered
household…I pray that our story will serve as a testimony
of hope for other struggling couples."
Monday - 24
Praise God for FEBCambodia's new phone-in program for women,
which went on the air in April. The program features homemaking
skills and is hosted by "Om" (Auntie) Phyrun-her first very own
show! Pray for inspiration as she creates each new program, and
thank the Lord for the favorable response thus far.
Tuesday - 25
Please pray for Somaly, FEBCambodia's audience-relations
coordinator, who is also the presenter of three phone-in programs
on Family FM, their local station in Phnom Penh. Somaly has a
special gift of relating to the audience, both on-air and in
person. Pray for wisdom, creativity and blessing in all she does
for the Lord.
Wednesday - 26
"You are like a good pastor, who is always there for me. In
all my problems, I have found help in God's Word through
listening to your broadcasts. Thank you, and God bless!" - Praise
from a listener in Cambodia
Thursday - 27
Thank God for Erik Dizon, who was recently appointed as
Director of Overseas Services with FEBC-Philippines. Pray for
Erik as he oversees shortwave operations at Bocaue and Iba. Pray
also for his family.
Friday - 28
Please pray for FEBC's plan to deliver 2,000 shortwave radios
to listeners who rely on tribal-language broadcasts from the
Philippines' shortwave facility. For many, these programs
represent their only source of spiritual nourishment and
encouragement. Pray for safety for all the staff involved in the
distribution effort.
Saturday - 29
Praise God FEBC-Mongolia aired its first broadcast from its
brand new state-of-the art studio last October! Also thank Him
for the two engineers who made the new Axia system operational:
Guy West (US), and David Bayliss (Australia). The team writes,
"We thank our partners FEBC-USA and FEBC-Australia and our
International Office in coordinating all these and exemplifying
an excellent partnership."
Sunday - 30
Praise the Lord for extending FEBC-Mongolia's outreach beyond
radio programming. Listeners meet at the station's new facilities
to attend sessions focusing on: building friendships and teaching
community women various life skills through off-air meetings and
activities; worship and spiritual growth for those who are
interested in Jesus or who have confessed faith in Christ. Please
pray that God will bless these outreach efforts!
Monday - 31
Praise God for this testimony from a single mother of two in
Mongolia: "I often feel lonely and frustrated… living the
life of a widow and trying to make ends meet has not been easy.
When I first heard the Good News on WIND FM, I tried to pray to
Jesus for the first time…now Christ is helping me to look
at difficulties with different eyes. I'm learning to be strong.
But the most important of all is I feel comfort and peace...I
attend every Saturday meeting at WIND FM and esteem to learn more
of God from reading the Bible."
