Sunday - 1
Please pray for FEBC's ongoing radio distribution
efforts so that more people can have the opportunity to hear the
gospel broadcast in their own language. Also pray that God will
greatly use our programs to touch the hearts of listeners around
the world who tune in-whether individually, in small groups or
larger communities-to discover the truth of God's Word.
Monday - 2
FEBC-Thailand's director recently wrote: "We picked
up 100 shortwave radio units yesterday and have already sent 20
radios by four brothers to a remote place. We will carry the
remaining 80 a few at a time for strategic delivery to our
beloved people groups. My hope is that they will be delivered to
believers who do not have the means to purchase a radio…
and also to unbelievers who are already interested in the gospel
but do not have much access to it." Pray for all these new
listeners, and for strength and protection for FEBC's radio
distribution team in Thailand.
Tuesday - 3
Praise from listeners who were given a radio by one
of our field offices: "It is such a joy getting a radio from
FEBC! I've been waiting to have one but didn't have the money.
Praise God!" And: " I cried when I received this radio. Now my
family is so happy because we can listen to Christian programs
whenever we want."
Wednesday - 4
FEBC operates a strategic shortwave radio facility
on the island of Saipan. Please pray for the urgent need for new
missionaries to replace those who have moved on to new areas of
service. Pray that God will provide the right ministry personnel
in His perfect timing, especially in the areas of communications,
IT, facilities, and antenna maintenance.
Thursday - 5
Praise the Lord for Dean and Bev Brubaker, who have
served Him at FEBC-Saipan for the last eight years. They left
Saipan mid-August to return to the states where they will be
living in the area of South Carolina and taking on the
responsibilities of caring for Bev's mother, who is in fragile
health. They write: "Good-byes are very difficult. Pray for us.
If it is in God's plan, we will return as volunteers for
FEBCSaipan next year… How we praise God for the
opportunity to have served Him by radio for a total of 38
years!"
Friday - 6
FEBC-Saipan's maintenance missionaries Steve and
Sheila Myers and their three teenage sons are also returning to
the US. Steve and Sheila have struggled with health problems for
a number of years due to injuries incurred in a severe car
accident in the states; pray that Steve will receive the medical
help he requires. Thank God for the years of service and for the
friendships they enjoyed while living and ministering on Saipan.
Please pray for the whole family as they transition back to
America and seek His will for the future.
Saturday - 7
Praise the Lord for Jonathan Frank, who officially
became chief executive of Feba-UK in May. Jonathan, who is
married with three young daughters, writes "I love the chance to
make a difference…particularly exciting to me is the
opportunity I have to lead change: to work with people inside and
outside Feba to discern what change would be good while
protecting, even strengthening, the enduring, unchanging purpose
of Feba. It is an exhilarating challenge of leadership."
Sunday - 8
Pray for Jonathan Frank as he settles into his new
job at Feba and begins to work with the UK staff and board; also
pray that God will help him quickly gain an understanding of Feba
projects and partnerships. He says, "I know that to lead well I
need to be continually refilled with God's grace, love and
wisdom. Pray that I will continue to invest in my walk with God
and be open to Him changing me."
Monday - 9
Feba-UK requests prayer for their ongoing
advertising campaign being run on Christian TV, radio and
websites through the end of this month: "Pray that people will be
interested to know more about Feba and support the ministry."
Also pray for plans for the restructuring of their Supporter
Relations department necessitated by fewer staff and the
increasing use of telephone, emails and online banking.
Tuesday - 10
Please pray for Feba's team in Zimbabwe who
continue to work under the challenging circumstances of runaway
inflation and political instability. As God to uphold and
encourage the program producers as they reach out to struggling
listeners while also trying to cope with similar difficulties in
their own lives. One listener writes: "I had reached the end of
my road in life, and had no one to turn to…your radio
program has just given me new hope." Pray that Feba's broadcasts
will bring His hope and light to many more listeners in African
countries.
Wednesday - 11
Praise the Lord for Luke Cheng, FEBC Vice President
of International Ministries. Luke's job requires frequent trips
to our far-flung offices; pray for his wife Carrie and their two
daughters while he is away. Pray especially for him over the next
12 days as he travels to Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore and
Indonesia. Pray that these trips will be fruitful and that God
will bless and deepen his understanding of the needs of the
fields and staff he visits.
Thursday - 12
Please pray for FEBC-USA's semi-annual board
meeting, which will convene today and tomorrow in La Mirada. Pray
for safe travel, and ask God to guide Chairman Doug Pennoyer and
each member with His wisdom and discernment as they continue to
grapple with difficult issues in this unstable economic climate.
Pray also that He will clearly reveal His plans for the next
phase of FEBC's future, and that He will continue to protect and
expand the effectiveness and reach of our gospel broadcasts.
Friday - 13
FEBCanada's board of directors is meeting tomorrow
at the ministry headquarters in Richmond, British Columbia. Staff
member Joseph Ko writes, "Pray for unity in spirit, and
sensitivity to God's guidance."
Saturday - 14
Thank the Lord that FEBCambodia's shortwave program
Voice of Love can be heard throughout the country. Pray
that God will inspire all those involved in the production
process, and that He will continue to use this broadcast to
encourage isolated believers who live in remote areas: "Most of
my fellow villagers are ethnic people who are illiterate, but
they can understand listening. Through your broadcasts, we have
grown in our faith…thank you so much!"
Sunday - 15
FEBCambodia's director writes: "We seek to make
known God's love through our radio programs and personal contact
with listeners…As for the tiny Christian community in
Cambodia, they tell us that our Bible teaching and devotional
programs offer a lifeline of spiritual nourishment, especially
for those living in remote areas." She adds "We want to take this
opportunity to thank you for your support, whether it is in
prayer, or giving, or both."
Monday - 16
FEBC Chinese Ministries asks that we continue to
pray for their programs to minority language groups. Pray for the
Yunnan Province, which has the most minority groups in all of
China; pray especially for the new radio host, and for the need
for more listeners to share their testimonies. Also pray for the
2 major Zhuang minority languages broadcast in the Guangxi
Province: the Red River group and the Debao group.
Tuesday - 17
Thank God for Jean, one of FEBC Chinese Ministries'
new in-country broadcasters, who belongs to the Debao language
group. Pray for inspiration and wisdom for Jean as she prepares
programs in her 'heart' language, and for FEBC's plans to have
Debao programs on-air by 2010.
Wednesday - 18
"I want you to know I listen to your programs and I
accepted Jesus as my Savior because of them. My life is
completely changed now; I have peace, love and hope. I praise the
Lord for FEBC's broadcasts. The only way I can thank you is to
pray for you…and I pray that funds will continue to come
in, so the gospel can be heard around the world and millions of
souls will be saved. Please don't stop your broadcasts." - Praise
from listener in China.
Thursday - 19
This month FEBC's Day of Prayer will focus on
FEBCSaipan and our Chinese production centers in Singapore,
Taiwan, Hong Kong, California and Canada. Please pray for the
ministry, staff and studios in these locations and for all the
Chinese listeners that will hear the gospel through FEBC
programming.
Friday - 20
Thank God for Sionh, FEBCanada's missionary to the
Khmu people group. He writes: "This is the 22nd year that the
Khmu-language broadcast has been on the air-it is so wonderful
that the Gospel can be brought to places that would not be
possible to reach otherwise. There's no doubt that thousands of
Khmu Christians are growing spiritually, as a result of these
broadcasts."
Saturday - 21
Praise from a Khmu listener: "Your messages have
changed our lives from bad to good…they give us hope." Ask
God to touch and transform many more of the Khmu people through
the power of His Word and His love.
Sunday - 22
Please pray for missionaries Miriam and Emmanuel
Perez as they continue in their efforts to get FEBC-Philippines'
new station DZMR up and running. Around 2.8 million people in the
mountains of northern Luzon will hear the gospel in their own
language when the station goes on air. Miriam writes: "God is now
preparing the ground and laying down the solid foundation in the
lives of our target audience. Soon we will hear the stories of
changed lives! Keep praying, friends, as we await the start of
DZMR's broadcasts to the tribes of the Cagayan Valley!"
Monday - 23
Please pray for strength, guidance and wisdom for
FEBC's Vietnamese Ministries' production team in La Mirada, and
also for their in-country workers. They often labor under
demanding workloads in addition to family, church and pastorate
responsibilities; and in Vietnam, there are very real risks
involved in spreading the gospel. Thank God for each one's
dedication, and ask Him to bless all they do for His kingdom.
Tuesday - 24
Praise from Vietnamese listeners in the US: "I
thank God that He has brought Nguon Song's broadcast in to
my life. Thank you to all the staff. Your programming has been my
companion…may God bless you so that all my life, I can
listen to your broadcast without ceasing." And: "I love to listen
to the Christian Counseling program. I want to study to
become a servant of God…may God bless all the pastors and
workers at Nguon Song station."
Wednesday - 25
FEBC-Korea is concentrating on completing the
building in FEBC-Busan, which will be their 10th local station.
They write: "Pray that God will provide for all the needs, and
that He will bring faithful supporters and churches to contribute
towards the final costs. Please also pray for the Busan staff,
who are sacrificing their time and energy for this project."
Thursday - 26
How grateful we should be this Thanksgiving that
our God is still on the throne-and that His sovereignty rules
over all! May we never forget to praise Him for His love and
mercy, and for the goodness and gifts He so generously bestows on
all His children.
Friday - 27
From a listener in Korea: "A few months ago, I
recommended that my co-worker listen to FEBC. From then on, she
never missed a single day of listening to the programs,
especially The Garden of Love. Her life began to change
little by little. She always prays for her belief and
faithfulness to God. I also pray for the growth of her trust in
Him. Thank you so much, FEBC, and may God bless your
ministry!"
Saturday - 28
Praise God that since 2006, FEBC Russian Ministries
has partnered with Christ to the World Ministries to bring
Christian radio dramas to listeners throughout Russia… and
that thousands of lives have been touched and transformed by the
Story Within broadcasts! Pray for the team who produce
these dramas, and ask God to provide for 2009 production and
airtime expenses.
Sunday - 29
Victor Akhterov, program director for FEBC Russian
Ministries, writes: "We are using a team of excellent Christian
actors to bring stories of biblical characters to life. The
stories are well written, so this combination produces material
of great quality. But what makes these stories life-changing is
the program participants' love for the lost, and the prayers of
our supporters…"
Monday - 30
From a grateful listener in Moscow: "Every Friday I
put aside everything I do so I can listen to your radio drama.
For me it is pure pleasure: I enjoy the plot, the way actors play
their parts, and the deep meaning of the story…I am an art
teacher, and sometimes I let my students listen to the story
before painting. It is amazing to see how children get the main
points of your drama. Thank you for bringing the Bible alive. I
could never read it my myself."
