Testimonies from South Korea

South Korea has one of the most extensive FEBC ministries, with 13 stations. The broadcasts can be heard throughout the country by an online audience of up to 25 million people (about the population of Texas).

Here are several testimonies of God’s goodness our team in South Korea recently received from listeners:

Praying for Spiritual Eyes

– Sent by Minji*, a listener in Seoul, South Korea – AM1188kHz / FM106.9MHz

“Recently, my mother underwent brain surgery due to inflammation in her brain. Simultaneously, she also had surgery to remove her right eye. It was very difficult…but we are grateful that the surgery went well. Even though she lost her physical sight, I believe that the Lord will open her spiritual eyes.

“I would appreciate prayers for this. Through this experience, I hope that all my unbelieving family members will realize God’s love and accept Jesus as their Lord…

(Follow up-letter): “…Something amazing happened today! My mother, who lost her physical sight, gained her spiritual eyes through the grace, mercy, and love of our Lord and prayed the sinner’s prayer with me today!

Praise and glory to the astonishing work of God! I wanted to share this joyful news with the FEBC South Korea prayer team. Thank you, Lord! I am overflowing with gratitude! I will continue to expect the amazing work of God and pray in the name of Jesus. Amen!”

Turning a Secular Life Around

– Sent by Seongjin*, a listener in Daejeon, South Korea – FM 93.3MHz

“Ten years ago, I owned a bar, and I relied on alcohol and cigarettes to find any kind of joy. But that joy seemed to fade over time…

“When nothing could fill my emptiness, I wanted to end my life.

“One day, as a coincidence, I stumbled onto an FEBC South Korea broadcast while changing radio stations in my car. I cried and prayed while listening on the radio to a hymn. After this experience, I felt compelled to return to the church I had stopped attending.

“My life has changed through FEBC, and I am now serving as a radio missionary for FEBC. If I had not met the Lord through that broadcast, I would have continued to live a secular, unfulfilled life.

“Thank You, Lord. I love you!”

The Beginning of a School Prayer Group

– Sent by Eunji*, a listener in Changwon – FM 98.1MHz

“I had requested prayer because my eldest daughter wanted to start a prayer group at her middle school. I am grateful to the FEBC Korea team for introducing my prayer requests during the broadcast, praying together, and even sending snacks for the kids who gathered for the prayer meetings.

“Thanks to this, the prayer group has become a vibrant community, and due to everyone’s prayers and support, it became an official club at her school with a designated teacher. I am thankful for the prayer warriors who prayed together and enriched the gatherings.

“Please continue to pray for the prayer group to become more firmly established and to be pleasing to God.”

Expanding the Signal

– Sent by Minseo*, a listener in Pohang, South Korea – FM 90.3MHz

“I have fond memories of my childhood on the remote island of Ulleungdo, where I eagerly listened to FEBC broadcasts on the radio. However, back then, the signal would often fade in and out, making it a somewhat inconsistent experience.

“Now, thanks to the establishment of the new relay station in Ulleung Island, I am able to enjoy crystal-clear FM broadcasts from FEBC, and for that, I am truly grateful. Whenever I hear the slogan, “Listen to FEBC broadcasts, miracles happen!” those words resonate deeply within me. I want to express my sincere appreciation to FEBC South Korea for providing such an invaluable service.”

 He Listens to Our Prayers

– Sent by Dohyeon*, a listener in Busan, South Korea – FM 93.3MHz

“My beloved wife has been enduring significant pain caused by scoliosis. After sharing our prayer request FEBC South Korea team, we promptly visited the hospital where she underwent X-rays and CT scans. Thankfully, her pain has been alleviated through medication rather than requiring surgery.

“Despite the challenges she faced this week, she is steadily recovering, and we attribute much of her progress to your prayers. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support received from many individuals and extend our heartfelt thanks to FEBC.”

Please join us in praying for our listeners in South Korea and FEBC’s broadcasters. While Christianity is one of the major religions in South Korea, Buddhism is still the leading faith. In addition, North Korea, Japan and China are also being reached by Gospel broadcasts produced and transmitted from FEBC towers in South Korea. May many more listeners in each of these countries discover the Gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
