Bob and Barb Bartz began their service with FEBC as missionaries in 1989 when the family moved to the Philippines. During their 17 years of ministry from Manila, Bob filled a variety of engineering and management roles in the organization. In 2007, Bob was called to a ministry development role in Africa. He developed media projects that would impact communities and introduce people to Jesus across southern and eastern Africa with Feba Radio and TWR-Africa.

In 2015, Bob and Barb relocated to Jakarta, Indonesia where they both served with FEBC’s International Service Team, serving not only in Indonesia but across the FEBC world. This assignment concluded in mid-2020.

Bob’s role of mentoring content teams using media in their ministry efforts continues. He is currently on loan from FEBC to the East Region of Operation Mobilization (OM) International. This regional office focuses on offering media services to the vast array of ministry teams throughout the OM world.  Bob is joining the team as Media Strategist. The content planning workshop he developed called Content in Context will remain a core component of his new role. The workshop is transitioning to a virtual approach necessary to support OM media teams scattered across multiple continents. The workshop is designed for teams to develop unique content strategies, while discovering new approaches to reach a selected people group with the Gospel.

FAMILY NEWS

Their son, Nathan, was recently married to Anna. They are currently working in Florida. Their daughter, Emily, and her husband, Alex, relocated to New Mexico to pursue their careers after completing their studies in Texas.

Bob enjoys investing his time in the worship of God as a musician and songwriter. He shares his own songs at a variety of events, seeking to move audiences into a deeper relationship with God. He encourages, trains, and disciples other musicians to use their talents to introduce others to Jesus. In his volunteer role as a Lausanne Arts Advocate in southeast Asia, he fosters conversations and initiatives among artists in the church to introduce the Gospel through the arts, furthering the Great Commission.

Barb is no longer actively involved in a specific ministry role at FEBC. However, she remains active in their local church as a member of the leadership team, helping facilitate a weekly Life Group.  She also disciples women by leading a weekly inductive Bible study.  Her passion is to help women grow in their understanding of God and His Word. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and cooking.
